Data that makes a case for action

Briometrix focuses on work, education, retail, services and entertainment.

We use our technology to capture every gradient, crossfall and hazard to give your city a better insight into the condition of your footpaths. The data will also add value to existing GIS datasets to give your city the edge when it comes to effort, connectivity and access.

Footpath assessment

It’s the Brio method that makes a difference

Briometrix measures your footpaths against internationally recognised engineering and access standards, but it’s the Briometrix method that produces richer datasets, better insights and more human-centred assessment.

Briometrix;

  • Uses unique technology that is attached to a wheelchair;

  • Measures all the usual footpath assessment geometry, as well as the propulsive force to give a much deeper understanding of the effort required to use the footpath;

  • Employs experienced wheelchair pilots that make observations and judgements based on their lived experience;

Our solutions meet the challenges of city, transport, parklands and other professional planners by:

  • Taking your footpaths into the future by applying a new lens to effort and continuity;
  • Opening up your city for the revolution in small wheels;
  • Connecting footpath networks, public transport and key destinations;
  • Providing accurate and comprehensive data assessment and;
  • Adding rich new datasets to your existing management systems.

The Dashboard is the window into the quality of your footpaths

The Brio Dashboard is a software application that allows you to analyse each dataset of the project with ease so that you can prioritise improvement decisions.

Zoom in and out on selected locations and click various datasets and fields for a customised view of your data. You can do a ‘what-if’ analysis and reports to suit the needs of your department– and you don’t need to be a GIS expert to use it!

When new data is added, the Dashboard is updated automatically.

The Brio Dashboard can assist with urban planning, infrastructure capital works, economic development, access and inclusion and tourism planning.

Brio Map

Create more inclusive city

The Brio Map is colour-coded for connectivity, effort and access. Think of it like a ski run map that offers users choice for the best paths for ease or more difficult paths to develop fitness.

The Brio Map is developed from Brio datasets to create a user-friendly map that opens up new areas of your city for everyone.

Designed for the community, especially those with limited mobility or accessibility needs, we include location data such as accessible public toilets, parking, changerooms and lifts. Further data can be added such as bus stops, city walks and trails, accessible businesses and accommodation.

The search feature is useful for planning and the interactivity allows the user to control the busyness of the map. Need to find the closest disabled toilet? Access into a building? The easiest route to change platforms at the train station?

In the spirit of our human-centred design, the route is verified by Briometrix wheelchair pilots.

We don’t just provide the Brio Map – we also offer update services to accommodate festivals, local events and changes to route over time.

Your Brio Map can focus on city centres, parklands, trails, recreational areas and precincts, including sports, tourists, shopping and arts.

Catchment Analysis

Increase use of public transport and services

Briometrix maps the walkability and wheel-ability of specific precincts.

By mapping the catchment areas of key services such as public transport, health and education, your communities will have more confidence about the best paths to take.

Briometrix measures the effort, connectivity and access to train stations and bus stops, taxi ranks, hospitals, schools, sports venues or even annual events such as New Year’s Eve fireworks. As part of this service, you will benefit from our Brio Dashboard and Brio Map.

The catchment analysis is ideal for the 10-minute walk program to help connect everyone to parks and green spaces.

Transport connectivity

So much more than ‘mind the gap’

Changing trains, trams or buses takes planning at the best of times. But when you have limited mobility, it pays to know the most accessible entry and exit points, where you can change platforms and know how to seamlessly get from one side of the city to the other on your transport of choice.

That’s why Briometrix integrates footpath data with transport networks. We’ll map the transit stops for navigation and wayfinding.

Whether it’s rail, bus, ferry, light rail or trams, we’ll connect your footpaths to transport networks so that everyone can get out and enjoy door to door service for a more inclusive community.
